My music journey began at age two when I improvised pieces at the piano. At age nine, it was time for piano lessons. At twelve, my piano pieces for children were published. I played first chair flute and piccolo throughout middle and high school band and orchestra. I participated in every music program that was available including orchestra, marching band, chorus, jazz band, and madrigal group. After graduating high school, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and did post graduate work at Cleveland Institute of Music. Later, I earned a Masters in Teaching and taught elementary music for many years.

I breathe art and music. I can not imagine my life without them.
Here are excerpts of a few of the works I have written.
